RINCHENPONG MONASTERY OR SANG NGAG YANGTSE MONASTERY
Rinchenpong monastary was established around 1730 by the Nyadakpa Lama located above
Rinchenpong town. It is also the third oldest monastary of Sikkim. The monastary has a very rare
statue of Ati Buddha seated in Yab-Yum position. The monastary is a popular tourist attraction in
Rinchenpong. People can take a short hike to this monastary from Rinchenpong town. The place
offers tranquillity and serenity with the view of Mount Kanchendzonga.

How to Reach:
By Air
Bagdogra in Siliguri is the nearest airport to reach the destination. Which is about 130- 135 kms from Rinchenpong. One can hire cab or pre book through travel agencies to reach the destination.
By Train
New Jalpaiguri is the nearest railway station to reach the destination. From Siliguri one can hire or take share cab till Rinchenpong.
By Road
From Gangtok(capital) the tourists can travel through rented cabs or share cabs to reach the destination, which takes about 3-4 hrs.
