REESUM GUMPA

 

Located in Upper Hathidhunga, Rinchenpong. Reesum Gumpa is situated on the lap of
nature surrounded by the lush green forest with panoramic view of mountains. It is one of the
oldest monasteries of Sikkim. A short hike from Rinchenpong town leads to Reesum Monastery.
The monastery offers unique wooden structure with stone wall around the monastery. The beauty of monastery is untouched therefore holding its importance.

LOCAL EVENTS & FESTIVALS:
During Drukpa tshe-zi, the Buddhist festival which is celebrated on the 4th day of the 6th month
of the Tibetan lunar calendar, the people around the region visits the monastery to offer prayers
and seek blessings. People also take fresh harvested fruits and vegetables to offer in the
monastery.
