RAHUNEY CAVE
The cave is an abode of deity Rahula. He was one of the dharma protectors of Buddhism
and therefore the cave is called Rahuney. During the 8th Century Guru Padmasambhava meditated
in this cave for long life of every living being on earth. The stone which is in the middle of the
cave signifies Tse Bum (vase for long life). Rahula is portrayed with a serpentine lower body that
is coiled and upper body with nine heads and four arms. He has almost 1000 eyes in his body
which can be witness on the walls of the cave.
Devotees and tourist can visit the cave throughout the year. But the main puja is performed from
during the time of bhumchu. The cave is located in Kamling, Suldung Under Soreng District.

During the time of Tshetsu or Bhumchu people from different region visits the cave to seek
blessings. The monks perform prayers to the deity for the well-being of universe.

How to Reach:
By Air
Bagdogra in Siliguri is the nearest airport to reach the destination. Which is about 130- 135 kms from Mangalbarey. One can hire cab or pre book through travel agencies to reach the destination.
By Train
New Jalpaiguri is the nearest railway station to reach the destination. From Siliguri one can hire or take share cab till Mangalbarey.
By Road
From Gangtok the tourists can travel through rented cabs or share cabs to reach the destination, which takes about 3-4 hrs.
