MANGARDZONG
Located in Tharpu, according to the people the history is dated back around 1600, Sintu Pati
Sen(Manger Raja) ruled this place. During the time of Chogyal Phuntsok Namgyal, all the other
rulers of Sikkim surrendered their titles but Raja Sintu Pati Sen refused to surrender his title and
instead decided to rage a war against the Chogyal. Sintu Pati Sen came out victorious against
Chogyal. But later on, the Chogyal with the help of Tibetan soldiers attacked the Mangardzong
and chased the King through the jungle and thus was killed in the meadow which is known as
Raja tar till date. So, to commemorate the history Govt. of Sikkim is constructing the site which
is under construction.
